How To Make Flaxseed Hair Gel
You’ll Need:
- 1 tbsp flaxseeds
- 1 cup water
Put flaxseeds and water in a pot and bring to a boil. Cook over medium heat for about 5 to 7 minutes until the flaxseed hair gel thickens. Cook it until you like the consistency of your DIY hair gel: Cook it longer for a thicker hair gel and shorter for a thinner hair gel.
Immediately after you remove the flaxseed hair gel from heat, pour it through a stainless steel strainer to remove the flaxseeds. If you wait to long, the flaxseed hair gel becomes too thick to pour it through. Be careful because the flaxseed hair gel is still hot! Discard the flaxseeds and wash the strainer immediately.
You can use your homemade flaxseed hair gel as soon as it’s cool enough to touch. Using your fingertips, apply small amounts of flaxseed hair gel to the roots and lengths of your hair. Knead the homemade hair gel into the hair to define your curls.
